A five-minute walk from our door will bring you to the charming and picturesque Girvan harbour and miles of clean, sandy shore. Ayrshire is the birthplace of the Open Championship, and the site of the first British Open at Prestwick. Turnberry golf course which has hosted both the British Open and Seniors Open is a ten minute drive from the Hotel.It's also the birthplace of Scotland's most famous poet, Robert Burns and of Scottish kings and heroes like Robert the Bruce and - so legend has it - of William Wallace.

From Glasgow Airport follow signs for Kilmarnock and Prestwick on the A77 then signs for Ayr, Maybole and Girvan. On entering Girvan , Montgomerie Street is on the left just after Asda. The Royal Hotel is 500yds along Montgomerie Street on the left. There is free parking at the back of the hotel.From Stranraer follow the A77 signposted for Girvan. On entering Girvan take first exit at roundabout, straight through mini roundabout and down Henrietta Street to Harbour. Take right at mini roundabout and straight through traffic lights to top of hill, turn left onto Montgomerie street and the hotel is 700yds along on the left hand side.
